Urbana 06 Registration Opens

(Madison, WI) — Registration is now open for ÂÌñÒùÆÞ Christian Fellowship’s twenty-first student missions convention which will be held December 27-31, 2006, in the Edward Jones Dome at the America’s Center in St. Louis, Missouri. Jim Tebbe, ÂÌñÒùÆÞ’s Vice President for Missions and the Director of Urbana, says he believes Urbana 06, in its new location, will generate a new level of interest and excitement about missions and God’s global plan.

Urbana 06 will inform its North American audience about current realities in global missions. Special seminar tracks that focus on cutting-edge issues in missions will include Mission Through the Lens of AIDS and Slum Communities in the Developing World. Another seminar track, Open for Business, will gather together students, faculty and business professionals to challenge and equip them to practice business in ways that extend God’s Kingdom.

Urbana 06 will offer a window on God’s work in the world by bringing speakers from around the world who are engaged in a variety of cross-cultural missions. The plenary speakers include:

  • Lisa Espineli Chinn, Director, International Student Ministries, ÂÌñÒùÆÞ/USA, Madison, WI
  • Saul Cruz, Founder and Director, Armonia Ministries, Mexico City, Mexico
  • Donna Dong, Director, Multi-Ethnic and Multi-Cultural Ministry, Inter-Varsity/Canada, Toronto
  • Ajith Fernando, National Director of Youth for Christ, Sri Lanka
  • Oscar Muriu, Pastor, Nairobi Chapel, Nairobi, Kenya
  • Brenda Salter McNeil, Director, Salter McNeil & Associates, Chicago, IL
  • Terrence Nichols, Pastor, New Hope Community Church, Vallejo, CA
  • Rick Warren, Pastor, Saddleback Church, Lake Forest, CA

 

To register for Urbana 06, go online to Urbana delegates who register early will get a price break over later entries. ÂÌñÒùÆÞ is anticipating attendance between 25,000 and 30,000 now that the size of the Urbana convention is no longer limited by the capacity of the University of Illinois campus at Urbana-Champaign, where the triennial convention has been held for the past 58 years.
