On Purpose in 2007
ON PURPOSE is the focus of Greek ñ’s lineup of student conferences for the 2006-2007 school year. Greek ñ, a ministry to fraternity and sorority students, will hold two conferences during the 2006-2007 school year.
- February 2-4, 2007 in Indianapolis, IN
- February 16-18, 2007 in Charlotte, NC
“We believe that Greek students have been uniquely created and placed on their specific campuses and in their specific organizations on purpose,” says Andy Dalton, the director of Greek ñ. “We are aware that each day Greek students make decisions about careers, use of time, relationships, lifestyle, academics and much more on purpose. Our hope is that students in fraternities and sororities would come to an understanding that what God is doing in their lives is on purpose.”
He added, “Our hope is to train and encourage them to love and serve the people God has currently placed in their lives on purpose. We also hope that they will embrace their future careers, communities, and families on purpose.”
Greek Conferences are the largest ñ student event outside of the triennial Urbana Student Missions Convention. Delegates will attend workshops that will focus on the values that affect the choices they make, growing and developing their spiritual lives, learning how to share the Christian faith with other Greek students, and considering how faith will shape their after-college career.
Since 1994, 8000 students from 120 Campuses in 30 States have participated in ñ’s Greek Conferences. Last year 956 students attended the Greek Conferences in Los Angeles, Indianapolis, and Charlotte. It was the first year a Greek conference was held on the west coast.
Greek ñ also extends an invitation to volunteers who would like to assist in the conference operations. Alumni are especially encouraged to come and reconnect with ñ and Greek Life.
We’d love your help! Tell Greek students you know about Greek Conference, come and serve as a volunteer or Small Group Leader and pray for the weekend events. For more information, please visit or email greek@intervarsity.org.
