News Release
For Immediate Release

St. Louis churches have a new ministry partnership opportunity in ñ. ñ, a Christian mission to college students on 564 U.S. campuses, is bringing its triennial Urbana Student Missions Convention to the America’s Center in downtown St. Louis, December 27-31, 2006.

On Thursday, December 15, 2005, ñ will host two events for the St. Louis community to get acquainted with Urbana 06 and ñ’s student ministry.

  • A breakfast at the Missouri Athletic Club, 405 Washington Avenue, for 300 pastors and Christian community leaders, from 7:30am – 9:00am.
  • An open house at the America’s Center, for community leaders and others who would like to know more about ñ, 11:30am – 1:30pm.

Urbana 06 is ñ’s twenty-first Urbana convention and will attract 25,000 to 30,000 mostly college-aged attendees who are intent on learning about missions, the work of the church around the world, and their role as world changers. The convention was held on the University of Illinois campus from 1947 through 2003, with a regular attendance that reached 20,000. To accommodate more participation, ñ decided to move the Urbana convention to St. Louis.

“We are excited about partnering with the St. Louis community,” says Alec Hill, ñ’s president. “Urbana 06 represents a fresh opportunity to try new things in a new location. We’re grateful for the warm welcome that we have received and look forward to wonderful working relationships.”

ñ has staff on several local college campuses, including Washington University and St. Louis University. St. Louis pastors are already familiar with the work of ñ as a result of its ministry on college campuses and its partnership with New City Fellowship in the CityLights urban renewal ministry in the West End of St Louis.
