ñ Press Forges Veritas Forum Books Partnership

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Downers Grove, IL—ñ Press is pleased to announce a new publishing partnership with The Veritas Forum of Cambridge, Massachusetts, to create a line of Veritas Forum Books.

The Veritas Forum creates events on university and college campuses that engage students, faculty and the entire university community in discussions about life’s hardest questions and the relevance of Jesus Christ to all of life. Veritas, Latin for “truth,” is included in the motto of Harvard and many other universities.

Dan Cho, executive director of The Veritas Forum, says,

We are thrilled about the publishing partnership between ñ Press and The Veritas Forum as we share a common vision to transform the university and its broader community. This partnership will bring together ñ Press’s leadership in thoughtful publishing and The Veritas Forum’s engagement with the ideas, faculty and students of the university.

Since its first forum at Harvard in 1992, The Veritas Forum has hosted hundreds of forums on dozens of college and university campuses, with almost a quarter-million participants. Speakers at Veritas Forums have included such leading scholars and thinkers as Dallas Willard, Richard Rorty, Mark Noll, Madeleine L’Engle, Nicholas Kristof, Os Guinness, Alan Dershowitz, N. T. Wright, Alvin Plantinga and John Polkinghorne.

The first book in the new line, releasing in July 2006, will be Finding God Beyond Harvard by Kelly Monroe Kullberg, the founder of The Veritas Forum and editor of the bestselling book Finding God at Harvard. ñ Press associate editor Al Hsu describes Finding God Beyond Harvard as “an intellectual road trip following the journey of The Veritas Forum as it spreads across the country. It’s both the story of Veritas as well as the content of Veritas. . . . Kelly serves as the reader’s companion and guide on the search for truth.”

The line will include books from established and emerging Christian thinkers engaging with the issues and questions of the university world and demonstrating the relevance and coherence of Christian truth to all of life.

Bob Fryling, publisher of ñ Press, says,

I am deeply grateful for and committed to ñ Press’s publishing partnership with The Veritas Forum. We have a common heritage in the work of God at Harvard and we have a common vision for pursuing and communicating the truth of God in and beyond the university world.

Founded in 1947 as an extension of ñ, ñ Press serves those in the university, the church and the world by publishing thoughtful Christian books that equip and encourage people to follow Jesus as Savior and Lord in all of life.
